GUESS WHAT!! We have a crib and a changing table!! YAY!
Mr P and I went to Target on Wednesday and finally picked one up. We’ve been all of Colorado Springs looking at cribs and couldn’t decide on one. At first we thought we wanted one with the changing table attached (and that converted to a full size bed and nightstand), but we never really fell in love with one. After looking around at the PX on base and at Wal-Mart, Babies R Us and other various stores we finally decided to check out Target and we found one that was in stock and ready to go!
It’s black cherry, so a nice dark color (which we loved) and it’s nice and sturdy. It does also convert to a toddler bed, day bed and finally a full size bed, so it will grow with baby! It has great reviews and all of the other mother’s seem to really like it.
So we spent Wednesday evening moving furniture out of the babies room and into the guest bedroom. The nursery is going to be a tight squeeze, but I think most of them are. We aren’t too sure on how to set it up yet either. We spread everything out on the floor and got to work. It really was pretty easy to put together too! It only took us about 90 minutes to get the crib and the changing table together. Both are sturdy and perfect.
I even got to pull out the bedding that my Mom sent to us! I’ve had it picked out for weeks and Mr P likes it too. It’s nice and neutral and really classic (which is definitely our style). There is a variety of textures and fabrics which will be great for the baby. We don’t have a mattress yet, but I still wanted to see what it’d look like, and I think it looks fantastic! It’s called Creme Brulee from Baby Martex. Unfortunately I think they’re discontinuing it soon! I’ll have to stock up on sheets and stuff before the baby arrives. The only thing we’ve had an issue with so far is that the window valance isn’t long enough to cover the window, so we will have to find another one.
I do love the accessories though. The underlying theme is teddy bears, so that’s what we’ll be doing for the nursery theme. Nothing over extravagant though, just nice and simple for the little one. When we move and we can paint I’d like to do something on the walls, but we will see!
It has been an exciting week for us so far! I like sitting in the room now, and it’s barely even started!
